This Privacy Policy explains how CannonballApp.com LLC ("Cannonball," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Cannonball app, website, and related services (the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.
We use your email to send: transactional/service messages (verification, password resets, security alerts, receipts, drive/crew notifications, policy changes) and marketing messages about features, events, and offers where permitted by law. Opt out of marketing anytime via the unsubscribe link or by emailing support@cannonballapp.com; you can't opt out of service messages while you keep an account. We send email through Resend (transactional) and, where used, an email marketing provider, who process your email and engagement data on our behalf. We comply with the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act and Canada's CASL.
We and our partners use cookies, SDKs, and pixels to operate the Services, remember preferences, measure performance, and understand usage — including Google Analytics, Microsoft Bing Webmaster Tools, and Sentry. They may collect device identifiers, IP address, usage data, and approximate location from IP. Where required, we obtain consent before setting non-essential trackers; manage choices via our cookie banner/settings or your browser. You may opt out of Google Analytics using Google's Opt-out Browser Add-on. We don't respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals (no common standard) but honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals per Section 11.
If you enable notifications, we deliver them through Apple Push Notification service (APNs) on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) on Android, which requires a device push token. You can turn notifications off anytime in device settings.
To provide live drives, navigation, territory, and crew sharing, we collect precise (GPS) location while you use those features, including in the background during an active drive if enabled. Your live and recorded location may be shared with drivers and crew you participate with, per your settings. Privacy zones hide your exact location near home/work. Disable location anytime in device settings (some features won't work). We don't sell your location data.
We don't sell personal information to advertisers. We share data with: service providers under contract (Fly.io, Neon, Cloudflare, Mapbox, Stripe, RevenueCat, Resend, Google Analytics, Microsoft Bing, Sentry, Apple, Google/Firebase); other users when you share content, join drives, or share location; legal/safety authorities as required; and in a business transfer. We may in the future use additional providers, including AI and email-marketing providers; if we do, we'll update this Policy and our disclosures accordingly.
We keep personal data as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business, legal, and security purposes, then delete or anonymize it. Backups cycle out over time.
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring to protect your information. No system is completely secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
You can delete your account and associated personal data anytime from within the app (Settings) or by emailing support@cannonballapp.com. Some data may be retained where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes, or in routine backups that cycle out. Content you shared with others may remain visible to them.
Depending on where you live, you may access, correct, delete, or port your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails, manage cookies, control location/privacy zones, and delete your account (Section 10). California residents may request we not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; we honor Global Privacy Control signals. EU/UK residents: we process data on the legal bases of performing our contract, your consent, our legitimate interests (security, analytics, improvement), and legal obligations. Contact support@cannonballapp.com to exercise any right; you may also complain to your local data protection authority. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Cannonball is for adult, licensed drivers and isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor provided information and we'll delete it.
We operate in the United States; your information is processed and stored there. Accessing the Services from outside the U.S. means you consent to that transfer and processing.
The Services may link to third-party sites we don't control. This Policy doesn't apply to them.
We may update this Policy and will post the new version here with an updated date and, where required, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
